Understanding the cost of care can sometimes feel complicated. Our goal is to make the process as clear and supportive as possible while helping you find the right care solution for your situation.
Because every person’s needs are different, care costs can vary depending on the type of support required, how often visits are needed, and the level of care involved. We are always happy to explain the options clearly, answer questions, and help you feel confident about the next steps.

Understanding costs
How care fees are calculated
Care fees are based on several factors, including the type of support required and the level of care involved.
- The type of care required, such as personal care, companionship or dementia support
- The number and length of visits each day or week
- Whether care is needed during evenings, weekends or overnight
- Any specialist or more complex care needs
- Whether support is provided as visiting care or live-in care
Minimum visit: 30 minutes. This gives our carers enough time to provide meaningful support. Longer visits, several visits a day, overnight care and live-in care can all be arranged.

We offer a free, no-obligation care assessment to help us understand your needs and recommend the most appropriate support. During the assessment we will:

Funding option
Private funding
Many families choose to arrange care privately. This gives you full flexibility and control over the type of care you receive and when it starts, and care can usually be arranged quickly.
After your free home assessment, we’ll recommend a personalised care plan and give you a clear, written breakdown of the costs. There is no obligation to go ahead, and you can take the time you need to decide.

Is home care charged hourly, daily or weekly?
Occasional or short-term help, such as respite care or support after a hospital stay, is usually charged per visit. Regular care is usually agreed as a weekly package, so you know exactly what to expect each week. Here are some typical examples.
7 hours a week
Daily support visits
One hour each day to help with washing, dressing and breakfast.

Personal care, twice a day
A morning and an evening visit, one hour each.

These examples are a guide only. The cost of your care will depend on the number and length of visits, the time of day, and any specialist or clinical needs. Evening, weekend, overnight and complex care may be priced differently.
Paying privately doesn’t always mean you can’t get help with costs. Many people who fund their own care may still be entitled to support from their local authority, the NHS or benefits such as Attendance Allowance. You can read about each option below.

Local authority funding
If you may need financial support, your local council may be able to contribute towards the cost of care. This usually involves a care needs assessment and a financial assessment carried out by your local authority. We are happy to guide you through this process and help you understand the available options.

In certain situations, individuals with significant health needs may qualify for NHS Continuing Healthcare funding. This type of funding is arranged through the NHS and may cover the full cost of care if eligibility criteria are met.

Attendance Allowance
Some older adults may be eligible for Attendance Allowance, a government benefit designed to help with the cost of personal care for people over State Pension age. This funding can help contribute towards care services.
